Eric Avery



Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States, 1948. Lives and works in Galveston, Texas 
as Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Member, Institute for Medical Humanities, The University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston. Avery is an HIV/AIDS specialist. He received a BA in Art from the University of Arizona in 1970, and his MD from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1974. His work is in numerous collections including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.
