Project Description

By day, the imagery on Virgil Marti’s flocked white wallpaper covering the walls of the Window on Race is barely visible obscuring the viewer’s access to the narrative within. It serves as a neutral backdrop for quiet reflection sitting on the park bench the artist has placed immediately outside the gallery for viewing the work. At night, black lights activate the florescent inks revealing the wallpaper’s vibrant pattern inspired by the history embedded in the nearby historic park.
