The Library Company of Philadelphia

Philadelphia on Stone

The exhibition Philadelphia on Stone explores the first fifty years of commercial lithography (1828-1878) in Philadelphia and its influence on the iconography of the city. In addition, the inclusion of the works of current lithographers Kip Deeds and Roberta Delaney will represent the impact of lithography on contemporary visual culture.

On Thursday, March 25, there will be an opening reception with a talk at 6:00 by Nancy Finlay, editor of Picturing Victorian America: Prints by the Kellogg Brothers of Hartford, 1830-1880 and Curator of Graphics at the Connecticut Historical Society.  RSVPs are requested to 215-546-3181.
