The Artfront Partnership
About the Artfront Partnership
The Artfront Partnership is a public art venture in which Philadelphia artists are commissioned to transform dark vacant storefronts into illuminated art spaces, called Artfronts. Within storefront windows, artists will expand disciplinary boundaries between printmaking and other media. These site-generated installations will have strong visual sidewalk impact and will communicate an urban sensibility to a wide public audience. In the '90's, Artfronts were concentrated in Center City, but as retail stores flourished and empty storefronts became rare, Artfronts moved to other areas. Now as empty storefronts have reappeared, The Artfront Partnership is returning to Center City.
