Steven Thurston: The Origins of Allegories

The Origins of Allegories is a solo exhibition featuring the work of Steve Thurston, as part of Philagrafika 2010. Thurston combines the use of new technology, printed imagery, and clay in the creation of his sculptural works. Through the reinterpretation of historic images depicting such themes as virtue and vice, Thurston acts as a historian attempting to trace contemporary social, political and emotional problems to their sources in the distant past.
