The University of Pennsylvania Libraries hosts two exhibitions and related events during Philagrafika 2010. Werner Pfeiffer (censor, villain, provocateur, experimenter): Book-Objects & Artist Books (September 8, 2009-February 12, 2010) introduces a sculptor, printmaker, and painter renowned for his insightful and moving book-objects and artist books which comment and reflect on the place and role of the book in the twenty-first century.

Wharton Esherick and the Birth of the American Modern (September 7, 2010-February 13, 2011) pays particular attention to the graphic work as well as the sculpture and furniture of this great, but often overlooked, mid-twentieth-century American Artist.
